How to get back to school

--

The back-to-school period is a fresh start. Neuroscientist Marta Relvas explains that rest is important, but we must maintain discipline and routine during the holidays. A tip to facilitate readaptation is, about a week before resuming classes, start organizing school materials, make plans, revisions, and wake up at school routine time.

PLANNING
Write a list of goals that you would like to accomplish during the semester. These goals can be social, intellectual, or physical. Writing will help you get organized again and add new personal goals that you want to achieve.

MAKE A REVIEW
If you are starting the second semester, review your lessons from the previous semester. This will help you remember where you left off in the stories. Take this time to reflect on the way you studied and did your lessons in the previous semester and think about all the improvements you can make in your routine.

ONE DAY AT A TIME
Studying involves organizing notes during class, reading, and exercises. Develop the habit of studying at least 15 minutes a day of each subject studied that day, and do not wait to study only on the eve of the exams. Read class notes before bed. The memorization process lasts 24 hours: what was seen in the classroom and reviewed on the same day will have greater and better use.

THE EVE
Rearrange your sleep schedule. Throughout your vacation, you may have slept late. This can make it difficult to get back into your routine. Get ready at least a week ahead. Keep the bedroom curtains open for natural light in the morning. Eat a light meal at night and don’t drink stimulant drinks like caffeine and energy drinks.

Organize your backpack with your materials and choose your clothes the night before. Likely, you are still adjusting to your routine and choosing your outfit the night before will help you save time. Have a hearty breakfast with grains, eggs, yogurt, and cheese. These foods give an emotional boost and will improve your memory, your daily energy levels, your sense of calm, and even your mood!

Do moderate exercise. A little exercise before heading to school will give you more vitality and make you feel good throughout the day. Choose to go cycling or walking. They are light exercises but will help you wake up and flow the blood, providing more oxygen to the brain, providing mental clarity and clarity.

And the tips also extend to those who are returning to work.

Author Laura Vanderkam in her book “I Know How She Does It: How Successful Women Make the Most of Their Time” suggests that if your return to work is on Monday, consider Saturday as the last day of vacation and take Sunday not only to relax but also to start planning your return. Your first day should not be rushed. Build a transition phase. Put your office in order, take a moment to organize your agenda, tasks, and meetings.

Remember: keep calm, take a deep breath, positive thinking, get organized, and have an excellent return.
